Many jobs will say bachelor’s preferred and not much else…
BUT
Many of my co-workers were:
- Employees with a variety of work backgrounds such as similar call center / telesales experiences but also bartending, working in retail stores and restaurants, and even in schools as educators
- Entrepreneurial with side hustles on sites like Etsy
- Single, unmarried, divorced, new moms, and/or moms getting back into the work field
- Highly intelligent – whether they displayed it through humor, wit, advanced degrees, or strategy
- Open about their ADHD
- Not so open about high functioning Autism / Asperger’s but a telemarketing job can draw some people on the Autism Spectrum due to the perks of not having to worry about reading and showing facial expressions, the repetition of reading a script, and ability to focus for long hours
- Overweight, maybe as an effect of the phone work, sitting a lot, snacking between calls or on breaks
- Way more women but most of the men there tended to do really well
